<\/h1>\n<\/h1>\nWHAT-WE-DO: Many people associate the energy transition with the generation of electricity from wind and sun. However, the majority of the energy consumed in Germany is needed for thermal purposes; be it for heating buildings or in the form of process heat for trade and industry.<\/p>\n
Currently, about 80% of the buildings are still heated with conventional carbon-based technology. With the goal set by the German government of achieving climate neutrality by 2050, the real estate industry is facing major challenges.<\/p>\n
At an event in the district of Osnabr\u00fcck, Mr Wieschemeyer from Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft Osnabr\u00fcck demonstrated various ways of sustainably air-conditioning buildings and neighbourhoods using heat pumps. Furthermore, possibilities for combination with other renewable energies were presented. This can be electricity from photovoltaics and wind for the operation of the heat pump or the use of biomass in hybrid heating systems.<\/p>\n
