Rolf\u00a0<\/i>Balthes<\/i>\u00a0is\u00a0<\/i>by nature\u00a0<\/i>He graduated from the University of Mainz in 1990 with a thesis on slope stability analyses in rock. Afterwards, he worked as a freelance geologist for the\u00a0<\/i>Ph<\/i>. Holzmann AG and, in parallel, wrote a hydrogeological dissertation in cooperation with the Federal Institute of Hydrology on the long-term effects of the dumping of dredged material contaminated with heavy metals on groundwater.<\/i><\/p>\n
After reunification, he founded a geotechnical engineering office in Leipzig with two partners in 1992 and has since worked at the interface of geotechnics, hydrogeology and contaminated sites. After the sale of the engineering office to FUGRO, an international geotechnical company, he passed through various functions in the field of geotechnics since 2000 and became director and head of FUGRO's geotechnics division.\u00a0<\/i>Consult<\/i>\u00a0GmbH Germany.<\/i><\/p>\n
In 2012, Dr Balthes was elected to the<\/i>m Managing Director of the\u00a0<\/i>Fugro<\/i>\u00a0GeoConsulting<\/i>\u00a0France\u00a0<\/i>SA<\/i>\u00a0appointed in Paris. Since 2014 he was in Berlin\u00a0<\/i>as\u00a0<\/i>Fugro`s<\/i>\u00a0Regional Project\u00a0<\/i>Director<\/i>\u00a0for Europe, Africa and the Caspian region, has been increasingly active on the German market again since 2018.<\/i><\/p>\n
Rolf\u00a0<\/i>Balthes<\/i>\u00a0was involved in numerous interdisciplinary offshore and\u00a0<\/i>Onshore<\/i>\u00a0- site investigations for national and international energy, infrastructure and construction projects. An integral part of his work is regular, active participation in technical conferences and collaboration in standards committees and working groups (DGGT, BSH, VBI).<\/i><\/p>\n
Dr.\u00a0<\/i>Balthes<\/i>\u00a0has been since 1997\u00a0<\/i>\u00d6.b.u.v<\/i>. Expert for contaminated sites - investigation, evaluation (IHK Leipzig) and since 2003 expert according to \u00a7 18 BBodSchG, SG I-IV.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
After 20 years in an international group of companies, Rolf\u00a0<\/i>Balthes<\/i>\u00a0as of 01.09.2020, the management of the\u00a0<\/i>MuP<\/i>\u00a0Engineering company Magdeburg\u00a0<\/i>with further office locations in Leipzig and Berlin.
