Insight into everyday trainee life at M&P<\/h1>\n

Ilka Gerhard describes her experiences in the trainee programme:\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"When my studies were gradually coming to an end last year, I asked myself where I wanted to go in the future. Through an acquaintance, I became aware of Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft and the trainee programme they offered. Getting to know many different disciplines, working at different locations all over Germany, that sounded quite promising for the start of my professional life. No sooner said than done, I wrote an application, was invited to an interview in Hanover and received an acceptance letter a short time later. Of the four planned stations, one took me to Heidelberg to MuP Umwelttechnik GmbH. In this relatively small office there is a very open, almost family-like working atmosphere and so I felt very welcome and well integrated from day one. I gained insights into many different topics from the wealth of experience of other colleagues. I took groundwater samples, accompanied dredger excavations in the pouring rain, and clambered around in a life jacket on a sluice system. Of course, I also spent a lot of time in the office, analysing laboratory results, writing reports and creating cadastres. But above all, I learned a lot, whether it was about technical things or the whole shebang, such as writing quotations or invoices. I got detailed insights into the daily business of an engineering office, met a lot of interesting people and probably annoyed a few people with my questions.<\/em><\/p>\n
